Insulating coverings for cables and conductors. -In cables of the kind which are insulated by paper or textile material impregnated with oil, the oil has a viscosity not exceeding 6 Engler degrees at 60‹ C. and the cables have tubular cavities in communication, at predetermined points, with tanks containing the impregnating oil. The tanks may act as compressors. In the case of cables having inclined sections, the lower ends of the inclined sections are connected to adjacent sections by a joint which isolates the cavities of the sections.
