Nail-extractors; sliding - jaw wrenches; wrench jaw faces and handles.-An adjustable wrench comprises a shank 1 carrying the fixed jaw 2. a sleeve 3 carrying the movable jaw 4, a crossbar 5 on the sleeve 3 engaging a slot 1b in the shank 1 to prevent the latter turning in the sleeve, and an internally threaded handle sleeve 6 engaging the threaded portion 1a of the shank 1 and rotatablv connected by a ring 7 to the sleeve 3, rotation of the handle sleeve 6 causing the jaws to approach or move apart. The jaws of the wrench may extend on each side, and may serve as a hammer when closed, and the outer jaw may be provided with a V-notch for extracting nails &c.
