Abstract
250,162. Hazeltine Corporation, (Assignees of Hazeltine, L. A.). April 3, 1925, [Convention date]. Condensers.-The tuning condensers of a wireless receiver are operated simultaneously by turning a single shaft 12 by means of a handle or pointer which indicates the wavelengths on a scale 27, and in order to compensate for slight discrepancies in the characteristics of the three condensers, means are provided for adjusting the nett capacities in the three tuned circuits so that they may be equal at the minimum and at the maximum settings. The adjusting means comprise : (1) a fixed but adjustable plate 10, Figs. 2b and 2<c>, clamped to the insulating base 16 of each condenser and electrically connected to the movable plates. The plate 10 is adjusted to ensure equality of the capacities at the minimum setting. (2) An outside stationary plate 11 which can be moved axially to adjust the rate of change of capacity with angular movement, and so to secure equality of capacity at the maximum setting.
