Abstract

592,510. Wireless apparatus. THOMSON, A. Feb. 10, 1944, No. 551/45. Convention date, Dec. 8, 1942. Divided out of 592,491, [Group XXXV]. Drawings to Specification. [Class 40 (v)] A flat insulating plate forming the valve holder of a radio apparatus, specifically that described in Specification 592,491, [Group XXXV], has the means for clamping the valvecontacts thereto, also forming terminal contacts for engaging co-operating terminal contacts of a tuned circuit assembly. The latter comprises an insulating supporting plate having attached to it a cylindrical coil former, the axis of which is parallel to the plane of the support plate. Conduction terminal blocks on the latter directly engage the coil and have threaded into them conductive screws which are passed through the support plate, the heads of the screws being thus conductively connected to the coil and adapted to serve as the co-operating terminal contacts. The valveholder plate is supported along one of its edges by means which bias the terminal contacts thereon into engagement with the terminal contacts of the tuned circuit. Specifications 560,779, [Group XXXVI], 592,512, [Group XXXV], and 592,514, [Group XXXVI], also are referred to.
