Jacquards.-In order to weave carpets &c. in different colour combinations while using the same sets of pattern cards and without changing the connections of the warp threads to the jacquard cords, the sets of cards are each adapted to control different kinds or colours of warp throughout the fabric and are interchangeable. As shown, separate simultaneously - operated jacquard mechanisms 17 - - 21 are arranged each to control one kind or colour of warp. By interchanging the cards of the mechanisms 17 and 19 controlling the red and blue warps respectively, for example, the pattern is unchanged while red appears in the design in place of blue and vice versa.
