Abstract

248,850. Hewitt, J. H. Dec. 15, 1924. Plug couplings. - In couplings of the type wherein a plug and a socket on one member engage a socket and a plug in the mating member, one at least of the sockets is formed as a spring plate or clip adapted to receive one of the plugs by a turning motion. When the plug 2 on the coil-holder 1, Figs. 1 and 2 is engaged in the socket 10 in the member M, a rotary movement of the coil-holder causes the plug 9 to click into engagement with the resilient plate 6 forming the corresponding socket. The coil-holder is cut away as at 8 and the plate recessed as at 6b to facilitate such engagement. Two such sockets may be provided, Fig. 9, to permit of reversing the coil without releasing the connections. The spring sockets may take the forms shown in Figs. 7 and 11.
