Abstract

Vacuum tubes.- A cathode-ray tube for use in wireless directive reception and the prevention of interference comprises a heated filament F, a cathode-ray directing anode G, which may be .a hollow cylinder, and an electrode or collector C. The ray is deflected bv external plates or coils X, Y rendered active by the incoming signals. The collector C may be a single metal strip, or two aligned strips as shown. Alternatively, the collector may comprise one or more circular or elliptical arcs, the centre of the ellipse or circle lying in the tube axis, and its plane perpendicular to that axis. The tube is rotatable relative to the plates or coils X. Y. A fluorescent screen S mav be arranged beyond the collector C. Specification 252,263 is referred to.
