Abstract
245,456. Kodak, Ltd., (Assignees of Sheppard, S. E.). June 6, 1924, [Convention date]. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Acts]. Gelatine. - Inert gelatine for use in photographic emulsions is prepared by freeing, wholly or partly, ordinary gelatine from sensitizing compounds normally contained therein, as by treatment with an oxidising agent. The gelatine may be treated with sodium or other peroxide, and washed, or calcium hypochlorite or sodium peroxide may be introduced into the gelatine during its manufacture. To make photographic emulsions, a mixture of inert and active gelatine may be used, or inert gelatine may be activated by the addition of the sensitizing compounds described in Specification 235,211, [Class 98 (ii), Photographic processes &c.].
