Abstract
341,371. Photographic printing-processes. I. G. FARBENINDUSTRIE AKT.-GES., Frankfort-on-Main, Germany. May 12, 1930, No. 14568. Convention date, May 11, 1929. [Class 98 (ii).] Pictures made on layers containing dyestuffs which bleach out on exposure to light and are sensitized with a derivative of thiourea such as diethyl-thiosinamine, are fixed by treatment with sulphurous acid, which reacts with the derivative of thiourea and destroys its sensitizing action. The fixing agent may be dissolved in water or in an organic solvent which does not dissolve the binding- agent of the sensitive layer, or it may be applied in the form of sulphur dioxide. The reaction product of the fixing process may be removed by a liquid which swells the binding-agent of the sensitive layer without attacking the dyestuffs (such as a mixture of alcohol and benzene); or, if the product forms on the surface, it may be removed by a liquid such as benzene, or mechanically.
