Description

The method of operation specified in patent 887 733 is essentially suitable for chlorosilver resp. Chlorobromide silver emulsions. Pure bromide silver emulsions are less suitable for this because On the one hand, silver bromide dissolves too slowly in fixing soda and, on the other hand, bromine ions cause the reduction strongly inhibit the silver thiosulfate from the solution.

Die Positivschicht enthält, wie dies in der Patentschrift 887 733 näher ausgeführt wurde, kolloidales Silber oder ähnliche Stoffe, welche durch Keimwirkung die ReduktionIn order to produce highly sensitive layers which result in positive images by this process it has proven to be useful to use a mixture of a highly sensitive bromide silver emulsion a less sensitive chlorine silver emulsion. During the exposure, only the Silver bromide emulsion influenced so much that only it in the subsequent development in a fixing soda Developer is reduced. The bromine ions released during the development process at this point inhibit the dissolution of the silver chlorine present at the same time. Only on the unexposed or little exposed areas, the diffusion of the silver chlorine dissolved in fusing soda occurs into a positive layer brought into close contact with the negative layer. The positive layer contains, as was explained in more detail in the patent specification 887 733, colloidal silver or the like Substances which through germination effect the reduction

des gelösten Silberthiosulfats bewirken, und Stoffe, wie ζ. B. Merkaptobenzthiazol, welche in Fixiernatron schwerlösliche Silbersalze ergeben.of the dissolved silver thiosulphate, and substances like ζ. B. Mercaptobenzothiazole, which result in sparingly soluble silver salts in fixing soda.

Beispielexample

A 5% gelatin solution containing 1 0.05 mg is suitable for producing the positive layer yellow colloidal silver, 0.05 g mercaptobenzothiazole and, as a halogen silver solvent, 40 g fixing soda can be added. A mixture of 30 parts is used to produce the negative layer a high sensitivity bromide silver emulsion with 70 parts of a common chlorosilver emulsion was used. After exposure of the negative layer, the two layers are moistened with the following Developer: 1.5 g Metol, 6 g hydroquinone, 80 g sodium sulfite (anhydrous), 15 g caustic soda, 1000 ecm Water.

The layers are then brought into close contact and pulled apart again after 30 seconds. The positive layer must then be briefly watered.
