Abstract
The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) comprises hardening and strengthening substances such as carbon having high adsorbent and catalytic properties by mixing the powdered material with a binder, e.g. "a saline solution of an organic product" and shaping the resulting mass into granules &c. After drying, the carbon or other adsorbent or catalytic substances is coated with a solution of an organic substance to which is added a suitable salt and is then calcined in a closed vessel. The product is extracted with acid and water and is finally calcined again at red heat to improve its adsorbent properties. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
