Abstract
The condensation of phosphorus pentoxide fume produced by burning phosphorus or phosphorus containing gases is effected by means of hot water or hot phosphoric acid solution. The hot gases containing phosphorus pentoxide may be introduced directly into a packed tower irrigated with the water or dilute acid which is thereby maintained at elevated temperature.
