Abstract
241,608. Johriston, J. M. T. July 15, 1924. Continuous-discharge apparatus, rotary.-Vehicular apparatus for drying stone, gravel, or sand in two stages comprises a wheeled preliminary and final driers A, B, each provided with heating and agitating means, the material being exposed to the air as it is fed by a conveyer D from one drier to the other. The furnace gases from the drier A, after passing round the inlet shoot e as described in Specification 241,273, pass by a detachable pipe f to the uptake h for the gases from the drier B, a fan j being provided to exhaust the gases from both driers through a common chimney j<1>. The driving parts of the driers are connected by a detachable belt p to permit of driving from the tractor l. The driers may be constructed as described in Specifications 241,290 and 223,042. Specifications 9316/97 and 229,480 also are referred to.
