Abstract

Cut-out arrangements for electric machines having windings through which current may be transmitted at a voltage and frequency changing in the same proportion (for example a frequency changer) are made sensitive to a dangerous drop in voltage notwithstanding the corresponding drop in frequency by including in the maintaining circuit of the main switch a resistor 11 of such value in relation to the impedance of the operating coil 9 of the switch as to permit opening of the switch when the voltage and frequency of the line have decreased to a predetermined value. In closing, the switch 5 completes at the interlock switch 12 the maintaining circuit through the resistor 11, and, in starting up the machine, the resistor is shortcircuited by the hand-operated switch 13.
