Abstract

Spindle apparatus; lifting-rails.-In spinning - frames with overhead driven flyers the bobbin is rigidly connected, as by a spring 9, to the spindle 5, which is rotatably mounted, preferably in the ball bearings 8, and carries a drag pulley 12. The drag arrangements are enclosed within a space formed by the litter plate or frame 7 and a casing so as to be protected from dust and water, and are located between the frame 7 and its shaft 1, as shown, or beneath the frame and level with the shaft when the axis of the shaft is laterally displaced from the axis of the flyer. The drag cord is secured at one end to an eye 16 and at the other to resilient means 15. Guide rods 17 mounted on ball bearings are provided for the length of yarn extending from the full to the empty bobbins. The spring 9 is provided with a catch 11, which engages a recess in the bobbin so as to prevent it from falling when the frame 7 is rotated.
