238,691. Brown, W. J., Robinson, E. Y., Churcher, B. A. G., and Metropolitan-Vickers Electrical Co., Ltd. May 15, 1924. Thermionic valve circuits. - Apparatus for supplying a current of substantially constant heating value, for example to the cathode 14 of a thermionic valve for connection in series with an alternating-current circuit, comprises a current-transformer 12, a resistance 15 having a positive temperature coefficient in series with the secondary 13 and with the cathode or other heating circuit, and a resistance 16 having a negative coefficient in parallel with the cathode. The core of the transformer may be unsaturated magnetically, but is preferably saturated at the desired output.
