Gas, supplying by meter; coin action, mechanical - connection. - In a prepayment meter, such as described in Specification 171,445, of the kind in which a measuring wheel is provided having teeth on each face, those on one face being engaged on the insertion of a coin into a rotatable coin-holder and those, on the other face. engaging a pinion which operates the valve-controlling mechanism, the coin, when inserted through a slot c' in a stationary adjustable price-change disc c, causes a tooth f<2> on a lever f pivoted at a<1> to the coin-holder a to engage the teeth on the front face of the measuring wheel h. The coin engages between the coin-mechanism casing e and an arm f<3> on the lever. The tooth f<2> is normally held out of engagement with the measuring wheel by a spring g. Backward rotation of the measuring wheel is prevented by a pawl engaging the teeth on its rear face.
