Gas, supplying by meter; coin action, mechanical-connection; price-changing mechanism.-A price-changing mechanism particularly for gas-meters comprises a disc a connected to a plain disc j by rods m, p, q and provided with a curved slot b, a series of perforations c numbered according to the price of gas, and a centrallypivoted price-changing arm e. The arm e carries a stop f projecting through the slot b and screwed into a knob z, and a pin g to engage in one of the holes c. A coin in a coin-pocket h loosely mounted on a shaft o between the discs a, j and turned by a handle r engages, during its travel, the stop f to rotate the discs until the coin meets a discharge stop so that a spring-controlled pawl l on the rod m advances a ratchet quantity wheel k, which is held against backward rotation by a second pawl w. When the coin is inserted, it rests on a right-angled bend x on an arm i depending from the rod m and controlled by the same spring n that controls the pawl l. The initial movement of the pocket carries the coin off the step x, which then prevents the coin from being brought back beneath the coin slit. The discs a, j, are returned to initial position after discharge of the coin by the pocket h engaging the rod m.
