Abstract

Puncture or deflation, indicating.-Relates to devices of the kind comprising a striker A which is actuated by by a spring F to explode a cartridge I when the tyre-pressure. falls below a predetermined amount. According to the invention, the striker is normally maintained in the cocked position (shown) by the engagement of a spring in a groove of the casing M of the device. In the form shown in Fig. 1, a plate spring R, fitted in a slot A' of the striker, is forced into engagement with a groove R<2> in the casing by the stem D<1> of the piston D and the pressure within the air-tube K. On deflation, the piston rises and the spring R assumes the position shown at R' whereupon the spring F reacts to advance the striker. In the modification shown in Fig. 2, the striker A is normally held by a U-shaped spring S, the bent ends S' of which are held in the casing groove by the piston D until the latter rises on deflation of the tyre. The apparatus may be re-set by pressure of a tool, such as A<2>, on the needle of the striker.
