Abstract

236,859. Schneider et Cie. Jan. 16, 1925, [Convention date]. Valves; valve gear.-A valve 4, Fig. 1, controlling the flow of scavenging-air through pipes 5, 6 to the admission valve casing 2 of a fourstroke engine, is actuated by the lever 11 of the exhaust valve, so as to be open during the same period as the latter, admission of scavenging-air to the cylinder, however, being prevented until the main admission valve 14, Fig. 3, is opened. The main admission valve is actuated by an eccentric rod and rolling-lever gear, and the gas and air admission valves 15 bv eccentric gear, as described in Specification 159,789, and the exhaust valve is actuated by an eccentric rod 10 and rolling-lever gear 11, a connection 13 oscillating the scavenging valve 4. The valve 4 may be a slide or other valve, and may be situated near the admission valve casing 2.
