Boat-lowering gear. - In arrangements for employing the weight of the boat to slue the davits, the falls from both davits are led back to the winch adjacent to which is a coaxial drum e around which is passed the bight of a rope f the ends of which are wound round a roller h. A worm wheel k, Fig. 2, mounted on the davit a is in gear with a worm wheel j which is a coaxial extension of the roller h both being mounted in suitable bearings. The drum e is clutched to the drum d when the davits are to be slued.
