Abstract

235,188. British Thomson-Houston Co., Ltd., (Assignees of Hall, C. I.). June 3, 1924, [Convention date]. Automatic circuitbreakers. - A snapa c t i o n switch is adapted to be manually closed and either manually opened or automatically opened upon the occurrence of excess current by the movement of a thermal latch. The operating lever 17 when moved to the position shown presses down a rod 18 against the action of a spring 20 the rod 18 being eventually held against return by a bimetallic element 21 slipping over a collar 31 on the rod. A heating coil 26 is in series with the switch contacts and upon overload the element 21 bends and releases the rod 18 which presses the lever 17 into the switch open ' position.
