Abstract
234,934. Taegen, H., and Minimax Akt.-Ges. March 14, 1924. Safes and strong rooms.-Hard blocks such as those made from clinker, are laid obliquely and plates of metal placed between them to build up a safe or strong-room wall or door, so that it is impossible to drill straight, through them without encountering the metal. Alternatively the blocks may be made of V- or Z-shape and angle-irons placed between them at the sharp corners. Fig. 1 illustrates a safe door built up of rectangular blocks f laid obliquely between the front and back steel plates e and b of the door. Iron plates are inserted vertically between the blocks and angle irons h placed at the ends between blocks. Fig. 4 shows Z-shaped blocks m with Z-shaped plates n placed between them. The Z-shaped plates n may be replaced by pair, of oppositely arranged angle plates l. More than one of the layer of blocks may be used, one layer being arranged oppositely to the other. Fig. 6 shows a door construced of a double layer of V-shaped plates, one layer r being arranged with its reinforcing plates s vertical, and the other layer r' with its plates s<1> horizontal. The two layers are separated by a partition d of cement, reinforced concrete or iron.
