Abstract

A door capable of withstanding floodwater has inflatable seals located within channels around the aperture frame surround of a doorway and the door has corresponding channels to accommodate the seals when inflated. The doorway frame has bevelled corners and the tubes are inflated from a small air tank.

  1. CLAIMS FOR AND ABOUT, PATENT NO. (9922388.5) 1] THE RUBBER INNER TUBEING, TO INFLATE AND DEFLATE TO COUNTERACT, FLOODING, LOSS OF HEAT, ALSO PREVENTING WOULD BE INTRUDERS (IE) BURGLERS, SECRURITY FROM WITHIN, ECT AND A SAVEING TO THE RAIN FORRESTS, (IE) WOOD, 2] ALL) ANTI FLOOD BARRIER DOORS, WOULD TAKE IN WINDOWS AS WELL, AS DOORS.
    3] ALL FLOOD BARRIERS, WOULD BE CONSTRUCTED WITH ALUMINIUM SAVING ON TOMBER, AS CLAIMED IN CLAIM 1 4] RUBBER INNER TUBEING TO BE INFLATED WITH COMPRESSED AIR FROM SMALL AIR BOTTLE, AIR TO BE FED THROUGH ALUMINIUM PIPEING DIRECT TO TUBEING TO INFLATE AND DEFLATE, TUBEING WELL BE INSTALLED IN FRAME, AND NOT THE ACTUAL DOORS OR WINDOWS. An arrangement for counteracting flooding or loss of heat through domestic doors and windows comprising a surrounding frame having a pair of inflatable rubber tubes extending around the door or window opening and arranged to locate, when inflated, in complementary channels formed in the peripheral edge of the door or window.
  2. 2. An arrangement as claimed in claim 1 in which the rubber tubes are inflated by compressed air, the air being fed from an air bottle to the tubes by means of aluminium pipes.
  3. 3. An arrangement as claimed in claims 1 or 2 in which the corners of the frame and door or window are bevelled.
  4. 4. An arrangement as claimed in any of claims 1-3 in which the surrounding frame and door or window are constructed of aluminium.
