Abstract

1342190 Releasable fastening A WINKHAUS 14 Aug 1972 [13 Aug 1971] 37839/72 Headings E1J and E2A A closure comprises a frame 11, a leaf 12 which is displaceable relative to the frame to a position in which the leaf is against the frame, an inflatable seal 21 on the frame 11, and a drive connection which extends between an actuating handle 24 on the leaf and a pump 15 on the frame, the drive connection transmitting power from the actuating handle to the pump so that the latter can inflate the seal 21 when the leaf is against the frame. The drive connection comprises a pin 25, which transmits pivotal movement of the handle 24 mounted on a leaf arm 23, and a linearly moveable drive member 16 having a fork 17. The inflatable seal 21 is positioned in a channel bar 22 which extends around a frame rabbet 18 and a sealing strip 20 is mounted on and extends around the periphery of the leaf 12 so that, when the leaf is against the frame, the strip 20 is located between the inflatable seal and an arm 19 of the channel bar 22. The pivotal movement of the handle actuates a rod 26 which connects to the pin 25 and actuates a rod 29 which connects to other members, such as a mechanical leaf closing device.
