Abstract
234,221. Kuyser, J. A., Juhlin, G. A., and Metropolitan-Vickers Electrical Co., Ltd. March 15, 1924. Cores.-A stator end-plate structure comprises two concentric annular portions, one having a greater mean diameter than the other, connected together by radial conductors so that slots are formed for the stator windings, the whole end-plate structure being of non-magnetic material having a high electrical conductivity. In modifications the outer annular portion comprises two concentric parts the outer part being of unspecified material and conductivity. In one construction, Fig. 1, the radial conductors 2 are integral with the outer annulus 1 the inner annulus 3 being secured by screws 4. Alternatively the radial members may be integral with the inner annulus. In another construction, Fig. 4, the radial conductors 9 are separate and are secured to the outer and inner annuli 7, 8 by screws 10, 11, an additional annulus 12 being provided and also a known finger-plate 13. In further constructions, the radial conductors are integral with a segmental ring secured to the inner or outer annulus, the ring and radial conductors preferably being constructed as segmental laminµ, Fig. 7. The laminµ of either type may be piled together separately or inner and outer laminµ may be interleaved, the whole structure comprising annuli 14, 15 and segmental laminµ 16-18 being of non-magnetic material of high electrical conductivity. In a modification, Fig. 9, the outer annulus comprises an outer portion 21 of unspecified material, or the whole of the annulus 14, Fig. 7, may be of such material provided a ring 18 is employed. In another modification, Fig. 12, the outer annulus 14 is connected with the inner member 15 by teeth 24, the part 26 being of unspecified material.
