Abstract
738,803. Securing windings of dynamoelectric machines. METROPOLITANVICKERS ELECTRICAL CO., Ltd. June 16, 1954 [July 13, 1953], No. 19385/53. Class 35. Rotor end windings are secured by two or more abutting end rings having projections and recesses in their side faces to provide passages for the radial flow of coolant. As shown the rings 1-4 are arranged to provide passages 14 in alignment with the ducts 10 between the conductor stacks. The coolant can be air, hydrogen or liquid and may flow through axial ducts in the rotor core thence radially outwards by passages in the teeth or conductor slots.
