Abstract

233,318. Peetz, A. April 30, 1924, [Convention date]. Pulp, preparation of.-In a bisulphite process for the production of cellulose, the requisite reduction of pressure, whenever the maximum pressure is exceeded, is effected by discharging a portion of the lye liquor from the boiler, the upper valve of the boiler being used only for discharging the air present. By this method the quantity of high pressure steam required for the boiling operation is considerably reduced.
