Abstract

231,615. Edwards, L. E. Jan. 30, 1924. Pivoting adjustments.-The blade 2 of a teesquare has at one end a head 3 which may be fixed or adjustable and at the other end a parallel motion device comprising the members 4, 5 pivotally connected by links 6, 7 and urged apart by a spring 8, Fig. 3. The member 5 is connected to the blade 2 by a joint comprising a threaded pin 11 carried by the link and passing through a member 15, the gripping portion 16 of which is above the serrated surface 13 of a washer 12 interposed between the member 5 and the blade, the members 12, 15 being arranged to grip the blade at points considerably removed from the pin 11. The parts are clamped by a knob 17. To facilitate longitudinal adjustment of the members 4, 5, the blade is formed with a slot 18 through which the pin 11 passes.
