Abstract

Gases or vapours are absorbed by means of active charcoal made according to the parent Specification. The absorbed gases may be recovered by heating the charcoal under reduced pressure or by distillation with steam. The Specification, as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) comprises also the use, for absorbing gases or vapours, of any charcoal obtained by carbonization in the presence of alkaline salts, such as potassium carbonate, sulphide or polysulphide, either alone or in mixture. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
