Receiving sets, construction of.-A receiving apparatus has an inductance coil A provided with a plurality of variable tuning contacts E, E<1> connected to the input in parallel. Fig. 1 shows apparatus employing a crystal detector L, the circuit being shown in Fig. 3. The coil A is mounted between end pieces C, C<1> connected by an insulating bar D on which are pivoted three metal contact strips E, E', F. The strips E, E' are connected in parallel to the input or aerial terminal G, the strip F being connected to an earth terminal H which is connected through a metal strip K to a terminal J. The ends of the coil A are connected to the detector L which is also connected to a terminal M. The terminals M, J are the output terminals of the apparatus to which telephones N may be connected as shown in Fig. 3. The strips E, E<1>, F may be arranged to slide along the bar D instead of being pivoted as in Fig. 1.
