Abstract

529,470. Frame aerials. FABBRICA ITALIANA MAGNETI MARELLI. June 1, 1939, No. 16144. Convention date, June 3, 1938. [Class 40 (v)] A frame aerial comprises a flexible and elastic conductor 1 bent into an arc and having at least one intermediate point 4 connected by ties 5 to normally stationary points 6, formed for example by the case 3 of a radio apparatus. The ties 5 placed under tension stiffen the arc 1 so that it retains its configuration and also its inductance in spite of shocks and vibrations. The shape of the frame 1 and consequently its inductance may be altered by passing the ends of the ties 5 round rollers 6 and connecting them to sliders 7 which are engaged by a right- and left-handed screw 9 operated by a knob 10.
