Abstract

230,251. Cowburn, F. C., and Cowburn, G. M. C. Feb. 25, 1924. Ball and roller bearings.-Each roller 3 of a conical roller bearing is retained in the operative position by a spring 5 fitted in a bore in the roller and held compressed by a pin 6 having a conical head 7 bearing against a thrust plate 11<a>. A ring of balls is fitted between the plate 11<a> and a flange 8 on the inner race ring 1 and between a flange 10 on the outer race ring 2 and a detachable flange 9 on the inner ring 1. The rollers and the races have a common apex.
