Abstract

621,301. Bearings. AETNA BALL & ROLLER BEARING CO. Feb. 14, 1947, No. 4387. Convention date, March 26, 1945. [Class 12 (i)] In a needle roller bearing, the ends 20 of the rollers 15 are conical and are spaced by balls 29 disposed in annular grooves 26 in end rings 22 secured to the outer race. This arrangement causes a complex rotation of the spacer balls 29 with consequent even wear. The races have circumferential lubricant channels with connecting passages to the bearing surfaces.
