640,329. Roller bearings. TIMKEN ROLLER BEARING CO. March 11, 1948, No. 7458. Convention date, May 19, 1947. [Class 12 (i)] In a double row conical roller bearing assembly comprising a unitary outer race 1 and a two-piece inner race 3, 3, ribs are provided on the races to render the assembly self-contained without liability of its parts separating. The outer race 1 has integral thrust ribs 6 overlapping the outer ends of the rollers 5, and each inner race 3, separated by an annular spacer 7, has a split snap-on retaining ring 11 seated in a groove 10 and overlapping the inner ends of the rollers.
