Abstract

543,210. Bearings. RECORD ELECTRICAL CO., Ltd., and RECORD, J. W. Nov. 18, 1940, No. 16626. [Class 12 (i)] To prevent the loss of balls from a cage-less bearing, the relative axial movements of the spindle and outer race are limited by means engaging the spindle end where it extends beyond the outer race. The inner race b is formed on or secured to the spindle a and the outer race c has axial movement up to a stop constituted by a spring ring d, Fig. 1, entering a groove in the spindle. Alternative stops consist of a pin passing through the spindle or a headed pin driven into an axial hole in the spindle end. The outer race may be spring-loaded, Fig. 4.
