Abstract

180,057. Cooper, T. Feb. 18, 1921, Ball bearings.-An adjustable self-contained ball bearing adapted for radial, thrust, or angular loading, and having a single row of balls 12, comprises an inner and outer ring each having two races 2, 3; 7, 8, which are diametrically opposed. The races in section are approximately arcs of a circle or slightly larger radius than that of the balls. The outer ring is made in halves 5, 5a fastened together by screws, and having laminated metal &c. washers 10 between them for adjusting purposes. Felt washers 11 are inserted between the inner and outer rings to prevent the escape of lubricant.
