Abstract

228,689. Fleming, A. E. Jan. 8, 1924. Vices.-A clamp for securing a golf club or other shaped article for cleaning &c. purposes, comprises a pair of jaws A, B pivoted together at C and each provided with a longitudinal groove A<1>, B<1> lined with resilient material such as rubber or felt. A bolt E, having a wing nut G, is pivoted to the jaw B and engages between lugs H on the jaw A to lock the jaws in the closed position. A screw K operates through an L- shaped bracket J to clamp the device to a fixed support. To facilitate securing the article in different positions, the jaws may terminate in a pin M, Fig. 3, fitting in either of two recesses N, O formed in the bracket J, screws P being provided for securing purposes. The parts may consist of aluminium castings.
