Abstract
228,396. Schirp, F. April 7, 1924. Gases and vapours, treating with.-In carbonizing-apparatus of the kind in which rags &c. are treated in a rotating drum 1 arranged in a heated chamber 2, the faces of the drum are divided into perforated and imperforated areas, the perforated area of a face being the leading part of the face with respect to the direction of the revolution of the drum. By this means carbonizing-vapour is economized, and the rags fall during the rotation of the drum on that perforated area which is situated above a hopper 18 connected to a suction pipe 19 for removing dust.
