Sheet-registering devices.-In a front feed guide or stop for a printing-machine of the kind comprising a guard and a feed guide plate, the guard 4 is formed as a slotted resilient metal strip of approximately spiral form, and the guide plate 10 has extensions 11 which intermesh with, and project through, the slotted part of the guard. The guard is fixed at one end to the spindle 1, which is adjustable longitudinally of a sleeve 2 on the usual front feed guide shaft 3, by means of a nut 5 which also clamps the plate 10, and at the other end by a screw-and-slot connection 6 to a slide 7. The slide 7 is slotted to embrace the spindle 1 and may be raised or lowered vertically by means of an eccentric 9 engaging shoulders 8 on the slide and provided with an operating handle 14 which may carry a pointer moving over a scale. The slide 7 is held against movement axially of the spindle 1 by means of a collar on the eccentric 9 and bv a lock nut 13. When the eccentric 9 is turned the lower part of the guard 4 is raised or lowered, causing the extensions 11 of the plate 10 to project to a greater or less extent, thus permitting material of various thicknesses to be fed to the machine,.
