Abstract
226,325. Pointon, J. E., and Baker Perkins, Ltd., (formerly Baker, Sons, & Perkins, Ltd., J.). Oct. 31, 1923. Bread.-Loaves are conveyed from the oven b to a cooler c by means of a continuously moving conveyer e which extends across and in front of the discharge end of the oven, and means for passing the loaves from the conveyer on to a second continuously moving conveyer u, which traverses the cooling chamber, comprise fingers f secured to a shaft g which is connected by a link h with a fixed bracket j. The fingers are oscillated through the arc shown in Fig. 4 by the engagement of a grooved cam m with a roller o which is connected to the shaft g by a link p. Simultaneously with the oscillation of the fingers a rising and falling movement is given to them by the engagement of a surface cam n with a roller which is carried by the link h. The cams are mounted on a shaft l carried by the fixed bracket j so that the loaves are moved forward positively from the conveyer a on to a grid s through which pass trays t which are carried by the conveyer u.
