[Also in Group XXX] De-tinning apparatus comprises a rotary drumlike frame, formed by members 9 whose edges are parallel to the axis of rotation and which form the apex points of a regular polygon whose sides accommodate the swing trays 2 of an oven-conveyer 3a, and an endless band 12 which co-operates with the frame to overlie the trays and their contents, as they are inverted on being carried round by the frame and then to receive their contents after which the band diverges from the path of the trays. As shown, cakes C, e.g. layers for layer cakes, are baked in shallow tins 1 carried on the swing-trays 2 of the conveyer 3a which is carried on two spaced sprocket wheels 8 between which are mounted members 9. The band 12, e.g. of textile sheet, is driven at the same linear speed as conveyer 3a. A stationary guide 21 engages a pin 20 on each tray 2 to prevent it from swinging relative to the conveyer as it is inverted and after the cakes are deposited on to band 12 the tins continue inverted along path 22 being held by an extension 23 of guide 21 until clear of the cakes when crank pins 26, 27 engage guides 28, 29 to turn the trays right way up. Cakes C turn right way up as they fall on to conveyer means 31 which carries them to a cross-conveyer 38.
