Abstract

Proving-appliances; setting and drawing appliances for ovens.-A tending-device applicable to dough-proving, baking and like machines comprises two parallel endless chains 3 passing over sprocket-wheels 4, sections 1, 2 pivoted to the chains at 5, which sections form the surface of the conveyer, a second endless conveyer travelling at right-angles to the chains 3 and carrying trays 15, and means whereby either or both of the sections 1, 2 are allowed to open and deposit dough batches in a tray 15. The sections 1, 2 are retained in the closed position by fixed bars over which they slide, which bars are replaced, over the lower conveyer, by bars 6 having rollers 7 to support the trays. the bars 6 are carried by levers 9 which are operated through a lever 11 and rod 10 by a cam 14, so that when a tray 15 is situated below the conveyer the sections 1, 2 drop and deposit the dough and are instantly closed. The cam 14 and the lower conveyer are timed to synchronize the opening of the sections with the positioning of a tray beneath them. The conveyers may work intermittently.
