Abstract

159,308. Hodge, G. H., and Robinson, J. C. Nov. 24, 1919. Discharging and feeding devices for endless-chain conveyers.-Relates to bakers' ovens of the kind in which removable baking trays are automatically lifted on and released from an endless chain travelling in a succession of horizontal courses through the oven, the charging and discharging means being arranged at the same end of the oven, and consists in charging and discharging means comprising an external gantry having upper and lower travelling chain tracks q, p. The baking trays have hooks engaging rods u on the chain conveyer c. The trays emerge from the outlet t and are deposited on the upper track q and conveyed away from the oven. As the rods u on the oven chain track approach the inlet aperture s baking trays which have been placed on the lower track p are consecutively lifted by arms r, Fig. 6, so that their hooks engage over a rod u.
