Abstract

To produce pies and cakes &c. a bottom strip of pastry is tamped by a suitable machine into moulds which are carried on an endless chain conveyer, whereafter the moulds are filled and a top strip of pastry provided. The pies are subsequently trimmed and presented to an oven for baking. The filling apparatus is provided with a control means consisting of a throw cam operated ratchet and pawl mechanism driven by the chains of the conveyer and geared to deposit a predetermined amount of material into each pie.
