Abstract

Opening tops.-In opento closed motor vehicles of the kind having movable uprights for the windows, each upright is adapted to be moved transversely upon an horizontal axle and turned up above and in prolongation of the body for its operative position, and for its inoperative position is turned down through substantially 180‹ and concealed upon the inner face of the body. As shown, the upright 1, when used for supporting the hood, is engaged in a recess in the body side 9 and in order to turn it down into the concealed position it is moved inwardly along the pivot 8 and then turned down into the space between the frame 10 and the body side 9. A spring-controlled catch 13 is adapted to engage either in a recess 14 or an annular groove 15. The upright is provided with the usual guides for the window frames.
