Abstract

Pneumatic relays. - Apparatus for transmitting and increasing small differences of fluid pressure for purposes of measurement or of effecting movement comprises a pipe 44 to which the pressure difference is transmitted, e.g. by means of a rod 43 connected to a diaphragm 42 subject to the pressures, and which conveys a fluid under pressure. The pipe is moved by the variations of pressure differences so that its outlet nozzle is brought more or less nearly opposite the inlet opening 47 of a cylinder 48, the piston of which causes the return movement of the pipe until the pressure in the cylinder becomes proportional to the pressure difference. The return movement may be effected through a lever 50 having an adjustable pivot 51, and connected at its ends with the piston and with a rod 52 secured to the pipe.
