347,404. Thermostats. ASKANIAWERKE AKT.-GES. VORM. CENTRALWERKSTATT DESSAU UND C. BAMBERG-FRIEDENAU, 87, Kaiserallee, Friedenau, Berlin. March 11, 1930, No. 7966. Convention date, March 11, 1929. [Class 64 (ii).] A thermoelectric device controls the effect of one or more fluid jets on a pressure-sensitive device which controls, with or without a relay, a heating device. A thermoelectric pyrometer f is connected to the moving coil c of a measuring instrument, and the axis g of the coil carries a disc h mounted eccentrically. Compressed air is delivered through a pipe m and jets i, k which are arranged opposite to other jets n, o on the other side of the disc h. Rotation of the eccentric disc h varies the pressure difference in the pipes p, q due to the partial obstruction of the jet i or k and the diaphragm u is correspondingly deflected. Oil or other fluid under pressure is delivered by the pivoted jet t against the two jets x, x<1> to an extent determined by the deflection of the jet t, and the piston y of a servomotor z, controls in any suitable manner a valve in a fuel supply pipe or an electric resistance. In alternatives, one, or more than two, compressed air jets may be employed, or the eccentric disc may be replaced by the segment of a cylinder.
