Abstract

Aug. 1, 1924, [Convention date], E l a s t i c diaphragm, pressure gauges. -A pressure gauge particularly applicable for use with flow meters comprise two weak diaphragms a, a<1> connected together by a bar c and a number of rigid rings b. The pressure pipes leading to the chambers closed by the diaphragms are connected at q, r, and the displacement of the diaphragms is transmitted to the indicating- mechanism by a lever f pivoted at g. An initial tension may be imparted by an adjustable spring d. The pivot g may be adjusted automatically, as when making volumetric measurements of superheated steam, by two elastic pistons i, k, one of which is subjected to pressure variations and the other to temperature variations. For this purpose the pivot is carried by a rod n having a double-armed lever m, one end of which is connected by a rod l with a piston i, and the other by gears p and a rod o with the piston k. The lever f may actuate a recording device.
