Street lamps. - A street lamp comprises a pedestal 1 carrying a hollow head 2 containing illuminating means 3, lit continuously or in flashes. The head 2 has four openings 5, 6 arranged at 90‹ to one another. The opposite openings 5 are covered preferably with sheets 7 of frosted glass which bear direction arrows 10, whilst the opposite openings 6 are fitted with lenses 8, 8<1> of two contrasting colours, e.g. green and red, which show up and down the street.
